16 AND UNDER IN LITTLE ROCK IS OFF AND RUNNING
Jul 09 2006 - Shawn Powell

There are some new names that are making a splash at the 16-Under National Championships in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Here is a run down of some of the new 2008 faces that grabbed spotlight today!

Patrick Richard II, Carenco, LA 6'3"
* Richard is an amazing talent, who is climbing the ladder in the class of 2008. He can score with bouncy drives to the hole or with pull ups on the dead run. He is a true star!

Jonathon Mackey, Scott County, KY 6'4"
* He stroked the deep range J, and blew past opponents for death defying finishes.

Ian Markolf, San Antonio Winston Churchill, TX, 7'1"
* Markolf is a Chris Mihm look-a-like and possible future play-a-like. He is a strong rebounder and defender, but needs work on his offensive game in the post.

Tony Taylor, White Plains Archbishop Stepinac, NY 5'9"
* Taylor is a hard nosed, gutsy performer who can score on the drive or with deep range jumpers. He wants the ball in his more than capable hands during crunch time and he delivers. He has a big future, because he is not even close to his full maturation level.

Here is a 2009 name for you:

William Nelson, Port Allen, LA 6'6"
* Nelson is a slick driving swing man who can hit the pull up J, or dunk on an opponent if he happens to meander into his path. Big future for this young gun.
