Post from a Buffalo Fan on Game on Sunday

Just want to let Stepinac fans that they gained some additional fans in the Buffalo area yesterday.

Terms such as resilience, impressive, athleticism, best game of the year, too bad one team had to lose were being bandied about after the game by Western New York Hoop fans.

Having scouted Stepinac in their win over Hayes, it was very impressive indeed to see players other than Baltimore and Francis step up and play tremendously.

What impressed me most perhaps was the class displayed after the game by the coaching staff and players. One of the most difficult lessons to learn in sports is to win with humility and show grace in defeat. As difficult and heartbreaking as it is after such a difficult ending they were graciously applauding their opponent during the post game awards presentation.

Coach Philip and his staff have not only done an outstanding job between the lines with their team, but, more importantly, have done a superb job instilling life-long character traits that will serve these young men well for years to come. Congratulations on a fantastic season and best wishes from the Stepinac fan club, Western New York chapter!
